2007 APCO/NENA
DISPATCHER OF THE YEAR

Regina Keeth
North Little Rock Dispatch Department

I would like to nominate Regina Keeth for Dispatcher of the year.  She was Dispatcher for 19 plus years, and I never heard Regina become upset or out of control over any situation, on or off the radio.  She was always plain spoken, dependable, and very knowledgeable.  As time and workload permitted, she would dig through piles of information to help a caller, coworker, or Officer.  She had a wonderful working relationship with all Officers, Supervisors, and her colleagues.  Regina passed away in October 2007 at the young age of 45 years.  Other Dispatchers, NLRPD Officers, administrative staff, and Supervisors held a vigil with her family at the bedside before she died.

Regina's passing left large holes in the hearts of many, many people in her family, the Police Department and City of North Little Rock.  She would have never wanted up to grieve and mourn so long and hard.  I knew Regina only at work, but I did know that she loved her family, and was a devoted daughter.  Regina worked a second job to help support her Mother, who has been ill for some time.  I have personally missed her voice over the Police radio and telephone since she left us.  I know that her colleagues miss her even more. We all miss her.

For these reasons, I hope that this distinction for 2008 can be awarded posthumously to Regina Keeth, an outstanding Dispatcher and a wonderful person.  She can never be replaced.

Thank you
